Another time, maybe

Norfolk Square  .  LondonOpening Autumn 2017

The Rooms

The Pilgrm offers a refreshing break from the ordinary. Each room has been sensitively designed to reflect the building’s original time and place. We aim to deliver the warmest guest experience of today, with the finest British craftsmanship of yesterday.

Sensitively pared back, one of the most striking design features of our bedrooms is the 200-year-old parquet flooring that beautifully frames the bed and bedsides. With a nod to yesterday’s craftsmanship, it creates a modern, yet vintage charm.

Carefully placed original period lighting gives a soothing and inviting glow. The utilitarian shower rooms offer fixtures and fittings that contribute in equal measure to both mood and ambience. Our considered design exudes a warm sense of calm and offers you a unique base in London’s historic Paddington.

Humble and handsome the Bunks at The Pilgrm each feature bespoke stacked Single beds made here in the UK. The Bunks offer everything you need, and nothing you don’t. Bring your watching content and device with you... these rooms have no TVs.

Average 7sqm.
Ideal for one person, or two good friends. Toss a coin for the top bunk.

Our Small rooms have been thoughtfully put together in a refined manner to create a cosy and intimate den. Larger than our Bunks and with a double bed, the mix of parquet flooring and reclaimed radiators creates a sleek and soulful mood, perfect as an escape for today's modern traveller.

Average 10sqm.
Ideal for a couple or a solo traveller.

Step into one of our Medium rooms and you'll find we’ve created a refined and inviting place to stay, with a bespoke floating double bed as the main attraction, complemented by selected original furniture.

Average 12sqm.
More space than our Small rooms, for one or two people.

Our Large rooms offer a sense of modern luxury. With views over the streets of Paddington, these rooms are our largest and feature king or superking beds, tall reading lamps and a stylish and original mid-century modern armchair. The cast iron bedside tables complement our striking radiators, all lovingly reclaimed exclusively for The Pilgrm.

Average 14sqm.
The king of The Pilgrm rooms. Perfect for almost anyone.

Superfast WiFi Marshall speaker (with smartphone connectivity) 100% organic cotton mattress (handmade in Devon) Egyptian cotton sheets & towels Television (except in the Bunks) Bespoke 100% natural toiletries Laptop safe Hairdryer

Each room is finished with a beautiful selection of books and magazines, real plants and feature pieces from a unique collection of original artwork.

All rooms have opening windows, a mix of timber and carpet flooring, a hanging space for clothes and reclaimed cast iron radiators to keep you warm in colder months.

All guests enjoy access to the Pantries for tea/coffee/water. Water at The Pilgrm, like our WiFi and the best things in life, is always free.

Things we don’t have at The Pilgrm: Doormen, bellboys, valet service, turndown service, room service, a business centre, vending machines, tour groups or school groups.

To us, ‘luxury’ is care. By focusing on delivering everything you truly need, and nothing you don’t, we can keep our pricing in check and our delivery honest and true.

Our neighbourhood cafe has been designed to reflect its Victorian heritage.

A small independent coffee house, but a spirited place that invites connectivity, both chance and deliberate. We’ll serve our own blend coffee and a refined selection of teas, as well as delicious pastries, doughnuts and cinnamon buns.

All guests enjoy access to the Pantries for tea/coffee/water on the house. The perfect opportunity to meet fellow Pilgrms.

Fix yourself or a new friend the perfect coffee using our bespoke blend, or choose from a selection of teas and hot chocolates.

Feeling peckish? Order from our list of tempting Pantry items online or come and see us on the ground floor to place an order.

We’ll present some of our favourite drinks and dishes from far flung places and some closer to home.

Revealing the building’s inherent beauty, the upstairs Lounge at The Pilgrm has the character of a lovingly refined drawing room leading on to an open kitchen and bar. Offering a vintage and quintessentially British charm, the Lounge is a celebration of food and drinks from around the world, surrounded by the building’s original period features.

The menu is a journey in itself, well-travelled throughout different parts of the world. A menu is never just about finished dishes and poured glasses, but a measure of influence and expression. And like any story worth telling, the menu will evolve, sharing its sense of adventure.

Residing in the more bohemian and historic side of the area.

Paddington is known for its colourful and creative residents. Here literary greats mix with pioneering architects and have done so for decades. Situated very close to Paddington Station, the hotel is located next to Norfolk Square. The Pilgrm will have The Frontline Club, a hub for creatives, and Monocle’s own Kioskafe just around the corner, as neighbours.

We’re inspired by craftsmanship and its place in today's culture. While we get ready to welcome you to The Pilgrm, we’d like to share a few stories of compelling makers and places in our Journal. Stay in touch and we promise we will too.

Off the Wall

Often said to be in the eye of the beholder, the beauty of art transcends both place and time. An artist’s work is more often than not, a reflection of their journey and an insight into their understanding of life, their stories and inspirations stirring them into one act of creation or another. We take a look at three polarising artists, and how their individual styles have led to them all meeting at The Pilgrm this summer. Read on

A Material World, part one

The famous 80s song proclaimed, we are “living in a material world”, but thankfully sustainability's significant influence on design in recent years has given this statement more meaning. For the modern day maker the use of reclaimed materials has grown increasingly more common, but a small few have taken to a more honest and era-sensitive form of restoration. Read on
