Supporting StreetSmart

We have been supporting StreetSmart since 2019, in their fight to end homelessness throughout the UK. The charity, which launched over 20 years ago, pioneered the simple concept of adding a discretionary £1 to bills in participating restaurants during the months of November and December, and has so far raised in excess of £10.3 million.

2020 is a year we will most likely be wanting to forget. However, we cannot ignore the truly devastating impact the pandemic has had on charities. StreetSmart rely on hospitality to raise money. Hospitality is yet another sector which sadly has suffered enormously with most restaurants and hotels having to close their doors for a large portion of the year. This in turn, means that it is no longer simple or possible for some to add £1 to their bill.   

This year, we haven’t given a second thought in deciding to support StreetSmart again, this time throughout the whole year. Guests of The Pilgrm who would like to join us in supporting their invaluable efforts can choose to add £1 to their reservation when booking a room through our website. This £1 will go directly to StreetSmart, and because their running and operational costs are paid for by sponsors, every penny raised will go directly to the people who need it.
