The Big Music Quiz by Ian Wright + Darren Riley
This June, renowned artist Ian Wright will be joined by current Pilgrm exhibitor Darren Riley to bring you an unmissable quiz that will see the lucky winner gifted a stay at The Pilgrm and a one-of-a-kind painting by Darren.
With both artists' passions colliding in the worlds of music and art, Ian and Darren will be exploring their two favourite topics with an exciting quiz and as part of a wider conversation, with plenty of opportunity for the audience to ask their own questions.
Darren Riley is a British painter whose work is inspired by his deep love of music. His expressive paintings which recreate iconic record sleeves are a playful tribute to album art. “Being a musician, it was inevitable that I would focus on that artform when painting. Pop music and the fandom of it informs my art constantly, and is an eternal source of inspiration."
Ian Wright's work as an illustrator took off with his cover of The Undertones "Get Over You" 7-inch single in the 1970s, leading onto illustrative artwork for The Face magazine and weekly black-and-white portraits for the New Musical Express (NME). His subsequent work has included projects for Ian Brown, Pete Townshend, Tony Bennett, and T.I.
He also has a monthly music show on Do!!You!!! Radio, entitled Art School.
Each ticket includes a welcome drink and nibbles.
