Popping up at The Pilgrm: The Exploding Bakery
This September, we’re very excited to be welcoming Devon's hottest cake-makers The Exploding Bakery to The Pilgrm for their first ever London residency.
With fans reaching far and wide across the UK, The Exploding Bakery has fast become one of the South West’s most coveted bakeries. Well, Pilgrm friends, our time has come. From 30 August until the end of September, you'll have the chance to experience some of the most delicious cakes and brownies we have come across - and we've tried a few.
“We’re really excited to have The Exploding Bakery at The Pilgrm this summer. We love what Tom and Oli are doing, especially their attention to sustainability and provenance. Mostly though, we want to celebrate great people who love what they do, and with these guys there’s no mistaking their genuine joy and the skill that goes into their baking.” - Jason Catifeoglou, co-founder of The Pilgrm.
If further endorsement is needed, The Exploding Bakery’s creations have also found their way into London’s famous Fortnum & Mason department store, where their chocolate stout cake – with a splash of Mena Dhu Stout from Cornwall’s St. Austell Brewery – can be enjoyed.
Get ready for a full Exploding Bakery take-over this September which will see our ground floor cafe brimming with their cakes and brownies, alongside the addition of a collaborative brunch dish on the menu: The Exploding Bakery Banana Bread French Toast, combining their delicious chocolate chip banana bread with Nutella, honey, rosemary glazed pears, roasted hazelnuts, a scoop of ice cream and chocolate sauce. There will also be an afternoon cake menu available in the lounge, plus a Paddington Marmalade brownie created exclusively for The Pilgrm take-over.
Pop by to stock up on treats from 30 Aug - 30 Sept.
Our lounge and café are open daily 8am - 3pm, brunch bookings can be made online here.
