Brands are leading the way by championing different causes by inspiring, raising awareness and creating affinity - and on occasion contributing to a shift in society. But just where did this trend come from and what does it really mean? We’ll talk to our esteemed panel to unpack just where this movement is headed.
Join us from 630pm, Monday 13th May where we'll explore this trend with moderator Navaz Batliwalla, fashion writer and editorial consultant who has contributed to publications including Grazia, Glamour, Glass, Sotheby’s and SHOWstudio.
About the panel:
Tim Little Owner & Creative Director, Grenson
In 1997 Tim left an advertising career featuring brands such as Adidas, Timberland and Porsche to follow his dream of designing his own ‘English shoes without the cobwebs’ shoe collection. Since then Tim has also designed for other brands such as Joseph, Tods, Gieves & Hawkes and Dunhill and even created a shoe with Sir Terrence Conran. In 2005 Tim was approached by Grenson, and five years later he had the opportunity to buy the company. Since then the business has grown three fold and now includes both women’s and men’s accessories. Once again a respected brand, Grenson have four shops in London; the first Grenson shop in the USA in NYC, and collaborate with brands such as Vivienne Westwood, New Balance, Japanese streetwear label Neighborhood, Edwin and Rag & Bone. Grenson is proving that you can have an old company with a young heart.

Arnaud Meysselle is a creative leader whose inclusive vision for the future of luxury beauty has challenged the traditional conventions of formulation, packaging and price keeping REN Clean Skincare dedicated to its founding values of #cleantoskin #cleantoplanet. Arnaud set a goal for REN Clean Skincare, Zero Waste by 2021, alongside pioneering steps to reach this target; including 100% recyclable packaging, refillable solutions, and bottles with reclaimed ocean plastic collaborating with sustainable packaging experts TerraCycle. To tackle the current waste issue Arnaud partnered REN Clean Skincare with global activists Surfrider to clean up beaches & oceans worldwide. In addition, supporting individuals like environmental campaigner and plastic patrol founder Lizzie Carr who was announced as REN Clean Skincare Clean Hero in February 2019.
Richard Frazier CMO, Workshop Coffee
Richard is CMO of leading specialty coffee company, Workshop Coffee. From the aesthetic of their coffeebars through to Workshop's visual style, he oversees all things brand, marketing and customer-facing. Established in 2011 and dedicated to showcasing the best coffee possible, Workshop involve themselves in every aspect of the coffee production process. Spending several months of each year at origin selecting their chosen coffees, they then roast it carefully and quality control it rigorously at their Roastery in Bethnal Green before delivering it to their coffeebar regulars, subscription customers and wholesale partners across the globe.
